Chesterton House is particularly interested in growth through acquisition - with professional practices ‘where they predominantly do the sorts of things that we are looking to do’ the most likely targets, according to Richard Unwin, head of finance and administration in the new ABS. The firm is, therefore, likely to look at firms working in the property and probate area.

Little loyalty

Mr Unwin said: ‘The theme nowadays… it’s very much the trusted adviser client relationship… we’ve been incredibly surprised as to how easy it has been to move existing relationships from existing accountants and solicitors away, because the client has little or no loyalty there.’ Source: Legal Futures
