Argentina seeks out second law firm for debt advice

According to a source from the Argentina's economy ministry, the new government is searching for a second law firm to help resolve the country's long-standing battle with creditors suing it over its unpaid debt.

Mauricio Macri’s centre-right government will publicly launch its search today for a new firm based in New York to work with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Reuters reported. Argentina and the so-called ‘holdout’ bondholders intend to meet in the second week of January to begin talks to settle the legal dispute that stems from the country's $100 billion default in 2002.
