Barrister launches legal social media site

Mootis is an outlet for verbose lawyers who find twitter's 140 characters too restrictive.

A barrister has founded a new legal social media website which will allow lawyers to express themselves in ‘moots’ of 500 words. Exchange Chambers chairman Bill Braithwaite QC has set up Mootis which is financed by a number of private individuals and tech firm goldsixty7. The site is free to join and aims to let lawyers express their opinion with ‘more authority, weight and substance’ than elsewhere. Mooters can register directly or log in through Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook and  can also share videos, blogs, documents, images and audio. They can search and connect with people by name or import existing contacts from other social media networks.
