Bircham Dyson Bell has sealed a deal to acquire embattled King & Wood Malleson’s office in Cambridge. The office encompasses partner Simon Burson and eight other-fee earners, with a practice focused on commercial real estate matters including investment and finance and landlord and tenant work. The deal comes just days before KWM plans to call in administrators. Mr Burson commented: ‘BDB is a firm which is recognised for its expertise in the real estate arena including its leading planning team. This makes it an ideal fit for the team here in Cambridge.’ A statement from BDB managing partner Andrew Smith said that the firm’s move into Cambridge is just the ‘first step’ in a more ambitious growth strategy that will continue to seek out expansion opportunities over the coming year.
