Bird & Bird heads for Luxembourg

The firm will set up its 28th office when it is granted permission by the Luxembourg Bar to open up shop in the city, the site of the new Unified Patents Court.

Bird & Bird has applied to the Luxembourg Bar for approval to open an office in Luxembourg. The office will support the  firm's work with the new Unified Patent Court (UPC) as well as ongoing work in the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and Luxembourg-based banking and finance clients. David Kerr, CEO, Bird & Bird said: 'Luxembourg is an important jurisdiction for the UPC and many of our IP clients, as well as for many of our financial services and tax clients, so opening an office in Luxembourg makes perfect sense for us.'
