Mr Coulson took up a partner position at Hausfeld's London office in April last year to help grow the leading US plaintiffs' firm's competition practice in the UK and Europe. One year on, however, and a 12 April statement from BLP has confirmed that Mr Coulson has returned to the fold of the British firm where he has tallied more than a decade of practice. Mr Coulson will rejoin BLP as a competition partner within the firm's litigation and corporate risk practice.

'An exciting coup'

BLP head of competition and anti-trust Andrew Hockley commented that the re-hiring of Mr Coulson as 'an exciting coup' for the firm, especially given recent reviews of UK and EU competition laws which are expected to widen the scope for private plaintiffs to pursue damages in anti-trust cases. In a statement from BLP announcing the hire, Mr Coulson says that rejoining the firm 'feels like [coming] home again.'
