Blucora hires new Chief Legal Office after pre-decessor decides not to relocate to new HQ

Blucora, a Texas-based provider of technology-based financial solutions - has hired Ann Bruder as its new chief legal officer.

She was appointed to the position after the company’s  former top lawyer decided not to move to the tax preparation and wealth advisory services company's new Texas headquarters from the Greater Seattle area. Mark Finkelstein had worked as Chief Legal and Administrative Officer for Blucora from the company's former headquarters since 2014, overseeing the company's legal, compliance and human resources functions, and serving as an adviser to the board of directors and senior executives on corporate strategy.

'Deep knowledge and understanding'

Blucora President and CEO John Clendening, said: ‘Ann's experience as a strategic legal adviser with deep knowledge and understanding of the legal landscape makes her an ideal person for the chief legal officer role and a great complement to our team.’

Texas-based 

Miss Bruder previously served as GC and VP of travel intelligence data company Airlines Reporting Corp in Arlington, Virginia, from 2015 to 2017 and prior to that she was president of strategic advisory firm Global Strategic Services and General Counsel, SVP of law, government affairs and global compliance for Commercial Metals Co, which are both in Texas.
