Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
A recent survey from Thomson Reuters FindLaw shows that just over half of consumers believe they would be more likely to hire a lawyer with an active presence on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The proportion of people who prefer social media-savvy lawyers climbs even higher, to 69 per cent, when only considering those between 18 and 44 years of age.
Decisions, decisions
‘Consumers are increasingly using [social media] to inform their decisions on hiring service providers such as attorneys,’ says Mark Jacobsen, senior director of strategic development and thought leadership at FindLaw. Approximately one in three of the respondents to the survey said they had already used social media to select a local service provider – such as a plumber, doctor or lawyer – with the number lifting again to 48 per cent for those aged 18 to 34.
