Clifford Chance partner elected as next Law Society President

Clifford Chance partner Simon Davis has been elected as the Law Society's next President - a role he will officially take up in 2019.

Before taking up the reigns, Mr Davis will take office as Deputy Vice President in July, before becoming Vice President in 2018 and then President in 2019. He is a stalwart of Clifford Chance having joined in 1982, qualified in 1984 and become a partner in 1994. Now one of the firm’s most senior litigators, Mr Davis is also a former President of the London Solicitors Litigation Association.

Winner

Law Society President Robert Bourns said: ‘I congratulate Simon, who emerged as the winner from an extremely strong field of candidates. I wish him all the very best for his three years as an office holder.’ Mr Bourns has been Law Society President since 2016. Law Society Chief Executive Catherine Dixon resigned at the start of the year.
