Clifford Chance refocuses Southeast Asia operations

The law firm is closing down its Thai office and ending its Indonesian association.

Clifford Chance is to shut down its Bangkok office next year, the firm has announced. It will also end its association in Indonesia and focus its Southeast Asia operations in Singapore. The firm has been based in Singapore for 35 years. The Bangkok office currently has 26 lawyers and has been operating in the region since the 1990s when it was once of the first international firms to open there. No decision has been taken on the future of the lawyers in Bangkok.

The firm's agreement with Linda Widyati and Partners in Jacarta is not continuing 'by mutual agreement' coinciding with Linda Widyati's retirement.
