CLOC Institute launches in London

The leading US group of legal operators descended on London today for its first overseas event.

The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium launched its first EMEA event today in London. Over 180 legal operators, law firms and technology companies gathered for the event which focused on  action oriented tactical sessions and practitioner speakers from a range of multinational companies, including Oracle, VMware, BT Group, Barclays, Cisco, Facebook, Google, British Telcom and Juniper Networks.

'The CLOC EMEA Institute brings together the entire ecosystem of  legal operations professionals, in-house counsel, outside counsel, technology providers, educational institutions and more,' said Connie Brenton, CEO and chairwoman of CLOC and senior director of legal operations at NetApp. 'The Institute offers attendees an unparalleled opportunity to network, share best practices and key learnings around CLOC’s 12 core competencies. We are encouraging service providers, law firms and law schools to work together to solve the issues of the legal services industry.'

Session highlights included how to escalating your legal operations from the ground up; Machine Learning in 2018 and how to build your operational excellence strategy. CLOC was formed to drive collaboration and innovation in order to reshape the legal ecosystem. The group has over 1000 members from more than 500 companies.
