Clyde & Co picks up top insurance team in Miami

The latest move in the ongoing battle for the insurance market has seen Clyde pick up a team from Miami law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson.

The UK firm has made its latest move on the US insurance market by hiring a team from Hinshaw & Culbertson. The team comprises Sina Bahadoran and Eric Hiller who join as partners. Mr Bahadoran was a member of Hinshaw's executive committee. They bring a team of 10 lawyers and other legal support staff. Clyde & Co first opened in Miami in May 2016 following a merger with Thornton Davis Fein.  The new team represent insurance companies in high profile insurance coverage litigation matters throughout the United States. They focus primarily on commercial general liability, errors and omissions (for lawyers, agents, and accountants), directors and officers, and employment practices liability policies. They also provide counsel for clients around claims handling; corporate insurance transactions; insurance regulations issues; policy drafting; and product development.

Global growth strategy

Latest hires

This expansion in Miami is the latest growth for Clyde & Co in the US, where it first launched in 2006 and follows the hiring in December 2017 of a 15 partner/ 80 person insurance and litigation team from Sedgwick , which includes Alfred Warrington in Miami.  The firm opened offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, DC in 2017 and now has ten offices, over 60 partners and more than 350 people nationally in offices including Miami, Atlanta, San Francisco, Orange County, Long Beach, New York City and New Jersey.
