Clyde & Co targets Mayer Brown duo

The law firm is continuing to expand its insurance team with the latest hirings in London.

Global law firm Clyde & Co has today announced the hire of two insurance partners from Mayer Brown in London. Mandip Sagoo and Angus Duncan join the professional and financial disputes practice.  Mr Sagoo advises insurers in connection with some of their most significant and complex financial institutions, D&O, professional indemnity and warranty & indemnity claims.  Mr Duncan has wide experience acting for insurers in the financial lines markets. This includes advising on global exposures in respect of Madoff-related claims and on coverage in connection with various Eastern European bank exposures.  He also advises on policy wordings and on commercial D&O claims, with recent work including claims following the high profile collapses of well-known companies in the UK, as well as working on a variety of professional indemnity issues, with a current focus on the tax scheme exposures faced by accountants and independent financial advisers.

Client bases

Partner Sarah Clover says: 'Mandip and Angus both bring with them skills, experience and client bases which complement our existing professional and financial disputes practice very well. We look forward to them joining and further bolstering our practice in the UK and internationally.' Clyde & Co’s PFD group comprises over 150 lawyers in the UK and its professional liability and financial lines practice which advises on policy coverage, defending claims and regulatory proceedings, focusing on each of the major professions, as well as 'emerging professions' such as recruitment, management consultants and IT professionals.
