DLA Piper’s London-based head of debt finance David Miles and financial services global co-chair Philip Butler have both taken roles at Dechert. Mr Butler, a longstanding partner at DLA Piper, is leaving only a year after being appointed to lead the firm’s global financial services group alongside Frank Schwem, having previously served as head of the firm’s UK finance team. Together with Mr Miles, the pair carry a book of business that includes Credit Agricole, HSBC, Lloyds, The Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays Bank. Dechert’s London management committee chair Camille Abousleiman commented that the pair will add clout to Dechert’s growing London finance team as both ‘recognised leaders in the London finance market.’  Meanwhile, DLA Piper global co-chair of finance and markets Charles Morrison wished the pair all the best in their new firm, but conceded the firm was ‘sad to see them go.’
