Dentons’ clients would have access to Vella Pugliese’s 13 partners and other staff in Sao Paulo and Brasilia. The alliance would be seen to enhance offerings in areas such as competition and antitrust, M&A, dispute resolution and litigation, labour, international trade and commodity finance, tax, public and administrative law, real estate and environmental law. The move is subject to partner approval from both firms – a vote which is expected in the next few weeks. If successful,  the alliance will launch later this year.

Latest expansion in LatAm

Last year the firm announced it would launch Dentons Lopez Velarde in Moterrey, Mexico and also established Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas in Colombia as well as forming Dentons Barbados. Earlier this year, The Global Legal Post reported Dentons had tied-up with Costa Rica-based firm Munoz Global. All in all, Dentons has been making a major push into Latin America over the past year.
