DLA branches out of legal through cybersecurity offshoot

DLA Piper is launching a cybersecurity product - CyberTrak- though an IT subsidiary in order to help multinational energy, finance and other organisations comply with different regulatory regimes.

CyberTrak will be sold to multinationals for US$25,000 a year, to give them a guide to 23 of the world's cybersecurity regimes. CyberTrak is half-owned by DLA through a specialist IT subsidiary called Blue Edge Lab. The other half of CyberTrak is owened by the Internet Security Alliance, a grouping which acts for over 20 companies in government contracting, financial services and other industries.

Vincent Sanchez, co-chair of the firm's technology, sourcing and commercial practice. said: 'It’s an ancillary business. We’re looking at new ways to provide products and services to our clients that may not be of the traditional law firm model.' Source: Washington Post
