A woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder over the stabbing of DLA Piper intellectual property lawyer David Messerschmitt. The 21 year old woman, Jamyra Gallmon, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with first-degree felony murder while armed, according to police. She is being held in custody.

The lawyer had sent a text to his wife saying he would be home in an hour. He did not return and his wife notified police that he was missing around midnight. He was found in a hotel bedroom the following morning,having been stabbed to death.
