Eversheds Sutherland is to open three new offices in Moscow, St Petersburg and Luxembourg. The firm has snapped up the Moscow and St Petersburg offices of Nordic law firm Hannes Snellman and opened an office in Luxembourg with two partners and five associates from Simmons & Simmons. The Russian operations will be led by partner Victoria Goldman with a team of five partners and 17 lawyers. The firm plans to offer a full range of corporate law services, with a particular emphasis on real estate, litigation, corporate and M&A, and corporate crime & investigations advice.

Russian team

Ms Goldman has over 20 years of experience in corporate law and has advised on numerous major investment projects and complex international transactions. She will be joined by partners Yury Pugach (real estate, litigation and dispute management), Luke Wochensky (litigation and dispute management, corporate crime and investigations), Anu Mattila (corporate and M&A) and Mikhail Timonov (corporate and M&A). Hannes Snellman extended into Russia in 2006 through an acquisition of Finnish firm ETL Law Offices. The spinoff leaves it with two offices in Helsinki and Stockholm.

Luxembourg office

In Luxembourg Simmons & Simmons partners José Ignacio Pascual Gutiérrez and Viviane de Moreau d’Andoy will join Eversheds Sutherland in due course with five associates. The office will initially focus on investment funds and corporate clients. It follows the opening of a Dusseldorf office last month, the combination between legacy firms Eversheds and Sutherland and the launch of Eversheds Harry Elias in Singapore and Brunei Darussalam earlier this year, giving the firm 66 offices in 32 countries.
