The new unit, to be named Condor, will offer alternative legal services to clients on a platform underpinned by advanced document-reading software technology. According to Mr Georgiou, who will act as chief executive of Condor, the initiative has been designed to offer a lower-cost services solution for Fieldfisher clients by combining technology with low-cost human resourcing: ‘Technology is certainly part of it. But it's more about delivering services and customised solutions to our clients in a way that's more efficient from a price point of view and more efficient from a process point of view,’ he told Legal Business. Mr Georgiou joined Fieldfisher from Ashurst last September, and will run the new unit alongside colleagues Guy Usher and Luke Whitmore.
