In an example of real fake news the 53-year-old who held the position of White House Communications Director for 10 days from Friday, July 21 was listed as deceased. Mr Scaramucci graduated from the university in 1989. A Harvard Law spokeswoman confirmed the mistake in a statement: ‘Regrettably, there is an error in the Harvard Law School alumni directory in the listing for Anthony Scaramucci. We offer our sincere apologies to Mr. Scaramucci. The error will be corrected in subsequent editions.’

On leaving his job little more than a week into it, a statement from the White House press secretary, said: ‘Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director.
