Icicle buys Carven

Chinese design house buys Carven, the struggling French designer label

China sheds light on work culture

The Icicle group, a high end Chinese fashion brand, has bought the ailing French luxury label Isabel Carvan. Gide, one of France's premier international law firms, advised Icicle on all aspects of the bid process.

The acquisition

Icicle is acquiring the Isabel Carven design house, its remaining four shops in France and all of its employees.  The eco-friendly Chinese fashion company is based in Shanghai. Icicle beat seven other bidders for the Isabel Carven label.

Franco-Chinese bonding

Icicle has announced that it intends to "relaunch and redeploy" the Carven brand in France, in China and in the international market.

The purchase of the ailing French luxury label Isabel Carvan marks the third major French investment that Icicile has made in recent years. Icicle opened a design centre in 2013. In 2017, Icicle aquired real estate for its first flagship store in France. This store is set to open in Paris next year.
