Ince has appointed partners Nick Goldstone and Michael Volikas as joint managing partners in London. The firm also named Beijing chief Wai Yue Loh as new head of its Singapore office’s China practice.

Duo appointed

Mr Goldstone has been head of the dispute resolution department for the last three and a half years with specialisms in commercial litigation and other forms of dispute resolution. Throughout his career, he has focused on media related disputes, reputation management and human rights. Mr Volikas was previously global managing partner for the Ince & Co shipping group for 3 years as well as being a member of the former Ince & Co management board from 2012 to 2015. His practice specialises in commercial disputes, across both wet and dry shipping cases, with a strong focus on dispute resolution. With London taken care of, Ince chief executive and Gordon Dadds Group chief executive Adrian Biles will continue to focus further on growing the group’s international footprint. Mr Biles said, “With over half a century’s experience between them, there isn’t a difficult scenario or tricky problem they can’t solve and I’m delighted that they have agreed to take on these new roles.” Mr Goldstone said, “I am very honoured by this appointment and it’s great that I’ll be sharing this challenge with my friend and colleague Michael Volikas.” Mr Volikas said, “I am excited for the challenge that Nick and I are taking on, as we work together to continue building Ince into a modern, integrated law firm.”

Important hub

Ince Singapore announces that partner and Beijing chief Wai Yue Loh has been named the new head of the Singapore office’s China practice, further strengthening the business offering to clients across Asia. The litigator and specialist in shipping, commodities and energy disputes, who is qualified to practise law in Singapore, England & Wales and Hong Kong, will maintain his role leading the Beijing office, as well as his partnership in Ince’s Hong Kong practice. Mr Wai said, “I am immensely honoured and excited by the appointment and look forward to taking the group’s services to greater heights in Singapore, and towards growing the firm in Asia across our core sectors areas and in the other areas in which our clients operate.
