The central government has said it will act to fill the 4382 vacant positions, with the Law and Justice Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, saying that state governments had to improve the infrastructure in courts at all levels. He said the new law on judicial appointments, the National Judicial Appointments Commission Bill, was a big step forward in reforming the judicial process and would allow greater transparency in the selection of judges once all states had passed the bill.  Source: Business Standard
