The Indian Bar Council should reconsider its stance on foreign lawyers and embrace their entry, an Indian judge has declared. Speaking at a legal event, Justice N Kumar of the High Court of Karnataka said that foreign lawyers would not make a dent on the livelihood of Indian lawyers but would instead give them an opportunity to spead their wings. The judge said that the bar needed to look at the bigger picture which would allow Indian lawyers to benefit from the principle of reciprocity by being allowed to practice in other jurisdictions.
