With nominations for the position originally due to close yesterday (20th September), the firm has now added an extra week onto the nominations period. Nominations are now expected to close on Monday or Tuesday next week (26th or 27th September), with the firm to announce the names of candidates shortly thereafter. The race has been prompted by the departure of former European managing partner William Boss, who stepped down from the role in early January. His replacement was originally due by May, but the election was delayed amid a reorganisation of KWM’s European practices.

The firm is now expected to announce the results of its European managing partner elections in the week of 7th-14th of October. Both London tax head Gareth Amdor and corporate, M&A and securities practice joint global coordinator Tim Bednall have been flagged as potential successors to Mr Boss. Simultaneously, KWM’s senior partner elections are also under way, with nominations closing on 4th October and a result expected between 19th and 26th October.
