Lacourte Raquin Tatar adds new partners from Allen & Overy and Gide

French law firm Lacourte Raquin Tatar is adding three new partners and one counsel from the Paris-based practices of Allen & Overy and Gide.

The firm has also appointed three of its associates to counsel positions to further strengthen the firm’s Tax and Real Estate Transactions practices. “The addition of Jean-Yves Charriau and his team from Allen & Overy will further strengthen our tax team, making our Tax practice the third core practice of the firm, along with M&A and Real Estate Transactions. It represents a strategic step in our development. Guillaume Jeannet will boost our Real Estate Transactions team, which currently includes five partners, specifically in the area of investments and in our work with international clients,’ said Jean-Jacques Raquin, co-managing partner.

New hires

Jean-Yves Charriau, David Sorel, partners, and Sophie Duboy-Maurel, counsel, are leaving Allen & Overy to join the tax team currently led by Julien Souyeaux.  Nicolas Riquelme, already in the team, has been promoted to counsel.  In addition, as from September, the team will also include two additional associates. The tax practice will as such include three partners, two counsels and four associates.

Corporate trasactional taxation focus

Focused on corporate transactional taxation, Lacourte Raquin Tatar’s tax team advises a client base that includes large French corporations, key players in private equity, investment funds and listed real estate investment companies (REITs), and French and international institutional investors for structuring their partnerships and acquisition transactions. The team also advises clients on strategic considerations related to real estate matters.

A Strengthened Real Estate Transactions Practice

Guillaume Jeannet is leaving Gide to join the Real Estate Transactions practice led by Jean-Jacques Raquin, and is bringing in Clémentine Castel, a senior associate. Guillaume Jeannet is specialised in real estate investment and asset management and regularly advises leading French and international investors. In addition, Marie-Amélie Gros and Irène Cottaris, associates in the real estate team since 2014 and 2010, respectively, are being promoted as counsels.

Expanded team

The team which now includes six partners, two counsels and nine associates advises a broad range of players in the real estate market across all business sectors. The Real Estate Transactions team acts in transactions and in litigation involving investments/divestments, structuring, development, construction, leases, urban planning, environmental aspects and has in-depth knowledge of land ownership issues.
