Latham revenues soar by 20 pc in London

Growth of revenue in the London office of Latham & Watkins is outstripping its global growth rate by 50 per cent - as fees rose to £163m in the UK capital on the back of a doubling in the headcount there since 2009.

Latham now has 296 fee earners in London, including 67 partners. Latham & Watkins is the largest generator of fees in London among foreign law firms, beating White & Case into second place. White & Case earn £155m last year. 

European growth

Latham's growth in the UK is propelled by its strengths in funds and private capital. During 2015 the firm will open a back office hub in Manchester in order to serve its European practice. Global growth was recorded for Latham at 14% last year, taking the practice to US$2.6b. Its UK income ($267m) is about 10 per cent of world revenues. Source: Legal Business
