Law firms win chunk of Australian defence work

Clayton Utz has been awarded the biggest slice of work from Australia's Ministry of Defence.

The majority of the Australian Government’s defence work is going to a range of private law firms with Clayton Utz winning the biggest share. According to the Brisbane Times, the department spent more than $13 million dollars on external legal advisors across a three month period. Clayton Utz received $3.4 million for that period whilst DLA Piper won $2.3 million worth of business. Sparke Helmore billed $1.1 million as did Ashurst whilst Minter Ellison was awarded $1 million worth of work. Source: Brisbane Times
