Anand and Anand - based in Delhi, Noida, Chennai and Mumbai - is behind 138 of the 205 damages cases heard in India. Founder Pravin Anand took many of the cases himself on a pro bono basis. The Indian government has now committed to recruiting more patent office examiners in order to speed up the patent application process. India lags well behind other countries  in terms of patent filings. Some 43,000 were filed in the country last year.
