Thirty per cent of lawyers earn over £100k in the UK, making it one of the best paid sectors in the UK. It takes 11 years on average for lawyers to reach this salary. The legal sector is only beaten by financial services which sees 60 per cent earning £100,000 after 12 years in the business. Insurance is on the same level as lawyers with 30 per cent earning more than £100k but at 14 years in the business. The research, released by salary comparison website Emolument,  sees 26 per cent of consultants, energy and mining and pharmaceuticals experts reach this salary after 14/15 years in the job.  Emolument.com analysed 57,000 UK salaries to compare remuneration patterns across various industries, specifically, those in which employees are the most likely to end up earning more than £100,000. Charity, not for profit and public sector are at the bottom of the table with only five per cent earning more than 100k and an average of 17 years to get to this salary.
