The law professor has claimed that Scottish independence appears bad for business. Jodie Kirshner, who taught at Cambridge University and now teaches at Columbia Law School, has written an article for Forbes magazine saying that even though Scotland has promised to lower corporate tax rates and relax its immigration laws upon independence, 'separating tightly-wound economices will pose challenges and uncertainties.' She goes on to say that business benefits from a large and unified market, without trade barriers or border controls. She says that it a decision to secede would have a complicated and undesirable financial impact and that Scotland currently did not meet the criteria for membership in the EU. Source: Forbes
