Lawyer faces jail for eating incriminating evidence

The moment that a Russian lawyer stuffed his client's breathalyser report into his mouth and chewed has been captured on CCTV footage.

The lawyer, who was representing his client on a drink-driving charge, now himself faces up to two years in prison or a $4,000 fine for destroying a key piece of evidence by means of consumption. Footage of the incident shows the lawyer putting the breathalyser report first into his pocket, then changing his mind and eating the piece of paper while the judge presiding over the case and her secretary were outside the room. With the whole incident captured on CCTV, the evidence against the lawyer is pretty airtight. However, it's not clear whether or not his client managed to evade prosecution in the absence of the breathalyser report.
