Lawyers vulnerable to fake SRA emails

Lawyers should keep an eye out for suspicious-looking emails claiming to be from the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA).

The SRA is on email security alert Nonnakrit

Last week, scammers posing as the SRA sent emails to solicitors, containing with an attachment with a computer virus when opened. This week, computer hackers impersonated the SRA again and asked for information about pending investigations. The SRA received a multitude of complaints—724 calls in in under 2 hours—and is working with the National Fraud Agency to find the culprits. Source: LawGazette.com
