Profit was up, but Linklaters' leadership team took home took home 4 per less each last year.

Linklaters’ LLP accounts for 2015/16 reveal that firm recorded a 5 per cent increase in its overall operating profits over the course of the year, while strong performances by the firm’s Asia Pacific and UK arms help drive a 3.3 per cent growth of global turnover, from £1.26bn to £1.31bn. Despite a string of departures from the firm’s Asia arm this year, the region’s contribution to Linklaters’ global revenue pool was up 7 per cent from £148.8m to £158.3m, representing 12 per cent of the firm’s total global turnover and making Asia its fastest growing region.

Less profit for partners

The profit pool to be share among the firm’s 12 executive committee members and chair of the firm’s partnership board, senior partner Charlie Jacobs, also grew by 3.7 per cent to £18.9m in 2015/16. However, the firm’s most senior leaders took home an average of £1.51m last year, down almost 4 per cent from the £1.58m allocated per member in 2014/15. The decrease is in part due to the fact that Linklaters added an extra twelfth seat to its executive committee this year, watering down the per capita distribution.
