Mr Elliot is preparing to step down from the helm of Linklaters at the end of this month after serving a five-year term as the firm’s senior partner. Over the weekend, Linklaters announced that Mr Elliot will be staying on with the firm as a consultant when his term wraps up: ‘Following the end of his term, we can confirm that Robert will remain associated with the firm in a client advisory role, particularly in areas of restructuring and insolvency, banking and corporate work, and will continue to represent the firm on various industry bodies,’ read the statement. It is also understood that Mr Elliot’s work will look particularly at the firm’s offices in Asia. His successor, fellow corporate partner Charlie Jacobs, was elected to the senior partner post in May and will commence next month.
