Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
Ms Morrissy is to join the company this week and told The Global Legal Post that Mlegal's global and national footprint was one of the key reasons she made the move. 'As a keen observer of trends in the partner lateral market in New York for many years I think this is a truly fascinating time to be joining Mlegal. The traditional stratification of the legal market is being challenged as never before and Mlegal is at the heart of some of the most interesting and complicated moves not just in New York but also in London, Silicon Valley and other markets.'
Earlier career
Ms Morrissy served as chief recruiting officer at Sullivan & Cromwell for seven years, where she was responsible for developing and overseeing the firm’s recruitment strategy. Her previous roles have included recruiting director at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, chief administrative officer for the Legal & Compliance Department at Credit Suisse First Boston and director of legal personnel and marketing at LeBoeuf, Lamb. Most recently, she has served as associate dean at Cardozo Law School, where she ran the Centre for Career Advancement and Professionalism.
‘Tremendous experience’
'Patty brings to Mlegal her tremendous experience working at the highest levels within some of New York’s elite law firms with a deep understanding of the partner psyche and the challenges involved in the lateral partner recruitment process. We could not be more excited to have her on board,' Mlegal Head of New York Brad Bruner commented.
Across the US
Mlegal was set up by UK recruitment entrepreneur Joe Macrae after his sale of the ZMB recruitment agency in London. The US operation services law firms across the country with offices in New York, Atlanta, Houston and the San Francisco Bay Area. The company also works extensively in London on partner and team searches, new office openings and senior in-house roles.
