Nabarro steps out of European alliance ahead of merger

The firm's planned tie-up with CMS Cameron McKenna and Olswang will see it lose its seat in the five-firm Broadlaw Group alliance.

As a non-exclusive referral network, the Broadlaw alliance includes five firms and covers around 1,000 lawyers in cities across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Its other members are 150-lawyer German firm GSK Stockman + Kollegen, 160-lawyer French firm Lefèvre Pelletier & Associés, 250-lawyer Spanish firm Roca Junynet and Italian firm Nunziante Magrone. With the formal launch of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang slated for 1 May, all three firms are ramping up their integration efforts, with practice group meetings between the three firms soon to take place.

Network firms to merger locally

Confirmation that Nabarro will be exiting the Broadlaw Group once it joins forces with CMS Cameron McKenna and Olswang comes alongside the news that Olswang and Nabarro’s European offices have been invited to merge with local CMS network firms rather than CMS UK partnership when the three-way merger goes live next year. These includes CMS DeBacker in Brussels, where both Olswang and Nabarro have existing offices, as well as CMS Hasche Sigle in Munich, CMS Francis Lefebvre in Paris and CMS Albinana & Suarez de Lezo in Madrid where only Olswang has an established presence.
