The orginal tender revealed that the Spanish banking big-hitter was looking for firms to work across nine practice areas including M&A, consumer finance, non-contentious regulation, contentious regulatory, capital markets, real estate finance and real estate. The bank recruited the highly regarded John Collins from Royal Bank of Scotland last year as head of  legal, compliance, regulatory affairs and anti-money laundering. Santander is also reviewing its global legal panel.
