New Zealand moves to stamp out juror research of cases online

New Zealand is heading up an international initiative to deal with jurors who ignore court rules and research online for case information.

New Zealand is making moves to change the punishment for jurors who search for case information online from contempt of court to a criminal conviction. The country is looking for an international consensus following a meeting of attorney generals from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the UK and the US in London last week.
