Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has acquired a white collar boutique. Morvillo joins the firm's New York and Washington offices next month. A total of 15 lawyers will join the law firm including seven partners, three counsel and five associates. Morvillo was created five years ago by a family of white-collar defense lawyers following the death of white collar lawyer Robert Morvillo who was best known for representing Martha Stewart on obstruction-of-justice charges in the early 2000s. Robert’s brother, Richard, and three of his sons started the firm in his memory. The hiring of the Morvillo team significantly expands Orrick’s white collar and securities capabilities.
