Pinsent Masons sells compliance business to Dow Jones

Pinsents has sold its New Law tech compliance business to Dow Jones.

Dow Jones has bought online compliance solutions platform Cerico for an undisclosed sum. The Glasgow-based business was set up in 2013 by Pinsent Masons and IT consultancy Campbell Nash and provides a range of online and digital compliance tools for clients. The New Law tech compliance company's chief executive Jim Armstrong will join Dow Jones with 15 other staff whilst Pinsent Masons partner and executive chairman Richard Masters remains at the law with with co-founder Tom Stocker. The firm will form a strategic partnership with Dow Jones, delivering legal know-how for the compliance platform as well as legal consultancy.

Alternative delivery models

Cerico was among of the first of a series of investments in alternative delivery models and services made by Pinsent Masons which also invested in e-commerce start-up Yuzu and diversity consultant Brook Graham.
