Record pace set in small law firm mergers

Smaller firms are increasingly the instigators of mergers rather than simply being swallowed up in a desire for growth by larger players, according to a New Jersey search specialist.

David Garber, president of the Princeton Legal Search Group, has told the New Jersey business title NJBiz that mergers involving small legal practices are happening at a record pace. According to Princeton, one reason for this may be that ‘Law firms engaged in succession planning are increasingly looking to merger partners to achieve their objectives’. Source NJBiz and Princeton
