Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
The current head of the Munich office, Stefan Kugler, will be in charge of the Frankfurt base. Across the two offices there will be 20 partners. Supporting him will be finance partners Dirk-Peter Fior and Simon Grieser, both joining from Mayer Brown.
Compliance and M&A
Andreas Jurgens, M&A partner, and restructuring partner Volker Kammel, have left Jones Day in order to join the team. Property partner Martin Meissner has joined up from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe. Rolf Hunermann, compliance partner, and Octavio da Sousa, M&A partner, have left Wilkie Farr & Gallagher to join Reed Smith.
Finance focus in Germany
Tamara Box, chair of the firm's financial industry group, said: 'Our great strength in the financial industry and the fact that so many of our clients are based in or significantly present in Frankfurt - a global financial centre - makes this move a natural fit.'
