Richemont GC wins 'Lifetime Achievement' award

The Global Legal Post launched the first luxury legal awards last night at the Luxury Law Summit 2014.

Dr Frederick Mostert, the chief legal counsel of  luxury group Richemont, won a major award in London last night. He received a Lifetime Achievement award at the Luxury Law Summit 2014. The leading luxury lawyer, whose portfolio at Richemont includes top brands such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Net-a-Porter amongst others, was selected by his peers in the luxury legal community for his contribution to the luxury industry. Dr Mostert is a  guest professor at Peking University and a Research Fellow at St Peter’s College, Oxford University. He is also a Past President of the International Trademark Association and has published two books "Famous and Well-known Marks - An International Analysis" and "From Edison to iPod - Protect Your Ideas" as well as publishing many legal articles.

Prada wins legal department of the year

The awards ceremony also saw Prada take away the Edwards Wildman award for legal department of the year whilst the creator of  womenswear company Beautiful Soul, Nicola Woods Carvalho, was awarded the Western Union Business Acumen Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award was was in association with Taylor Wessing.
Around 250 luxury lawyers attended the Luxury Law Summit  organised by The International New York Times and The Global Legal Post.
