SEC lagging behind over Dodd-Frank implementation

The Dodd-Frank legislation is still not implemented in full four years after its signing - with the SEC in particular lagging behind.

Washington: Dodds-Franks rules still not implemented in full Orhan Carn

Regulators are taking flak for their efforts to implement the Dodd-Frank Law which was aimed at preventing another financial crash. Four years after the legislation was signed, some of the main provisions still have not been completed incuding standards for the mortgage-securities market and tougher regulations for credit-rating firms. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is particularly lagging behind - with the smallest percentage of rules implemented of all the main finacial regulators. Only 44 per cent of its rules are final or nearly final, according to law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. The delay has been attributed to turnover and court cases.  Source: The Wall Street Journal
