Weightmans  has bought up the two partner Manchester office and created a new construction practice in Glasgow on the back of the collapse whilst  Maclay Murray Spens has taken six real estate partners and an expert in renewable energy. Meanwhile, Dundas & Wilson has picked up six Edinburgh partners whilst all 12 trainees have gone to other Scottish firms to complete their training.  However, 62 staff were made redundant, the BBC reports.

Joint administrators RSM Tenon partners Tom MacKennan and Kenny Craig said in a statement: ‘The events of the last few weeks have been very demanding for the partners and staff of Semple Fraser and I would like to express our appreciation for their commitment and professionalism in addressing the difficulties as we worked to achieve the best outcome for clients and staff in very difficult circumstances.’
