Skadden Arps heads US list of firms gaining work by IT

Skadden Arps, Jones Day and Baker & McKenzie take the top three places in the BTI Brand Elite league table for 2015, leading the list of firms which are 'strengthening their brand with clients and winning more work'.

Overall, BTI says that more law firms are falling behind than those which are making progress through their IT.  Some 38.6% of firms are strengthening their brand while 48.8% are 'losing their positioning in clients' eyes'. After the top three the next firms, in order, are Kirkland & Ellis, Latham & Watkins, Sidley Austin, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, DLA Pioper, Sullivan & Cromwell and Foley & Lardner.

More innovators in the legal sector

The analysis looks at 97 law firms and is based upon interviews with 648 corporate counsel in Fortune 1000 businesses. Despite the negative balance of the figures, corporate counsel identify a growing number of firms that are using IT as a way of innovating. The collective responses suggest that 9% more law firms are innovating in comparison with a year ago. Source: BTI Brand Elite
