Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has made a rare double hire in the city bringing on board White & Case global private equity co-head Richard Youle and fellow private equity partner Katja Butler.

Krisztian Miklosy

Mr Youle had been with White & Case for the past three years after making the move from Linklaters, where he was also private equity co-head. He  played a crucial part in building up the firm’s private equity practice and was made a partner in 2006. He was then appointed a global co-head of private equity at White & Case in October 2015.

Imressive client experience

Mr Youle has an impressive client base including  Terra Firma, Global Infrastructure Partners, Montagu Private Equity and Oaktree Capital. Miss Butler, who was became a partner at White & Case last autumn, focuses on transactional private equity as well as advising sponsor-held portfolio companies between buy-out and exit.

Private equity practice expansion

Skadden London head Pranav Trivedi said: ‘Richard and Katja will assume fundamental roles in driving our private equity practice forward, working with other members of our private equity team and our M&A, capital markets, investment management, real estate, banking and tax lawyers.’ Skadden in London is currently advising Moody’s on its €3 billion acquisition of  Bureau van Dijk.
