SmithDehn opens Northern Irish base
New York-based media law firm SmithDehn is opening a base in the Northern Irish city of Derry, with the plan to create 75 jobs in the next five years.

Its clients include 20th Century Fox and HBO, the makers of the series Game of Thrones. Russell Smith, co-founder of the firm, which also has a base in India, said: ‘Derry has a magic, it has a spirit, it has the X-factor that we are looking for, talent that is under-utilised and it is enthusiastic, dynamic.’ The firm will launch with eight to ten posts and work up towards 75. The firm has already begun working with the University of Ulster to run a media law course. Source: BBC News
