Squire Patton Boggs picks up three partners in Frankfurt

The firm has bulked up its local intellectual property practice with a team hire from US rival Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr.

Former WilmerHale Frankfurt managing partner and IP litigation heavyweight Reinhart Lange is joining Squire Patton Boggs in Frankfurt, alongside fellow IP partner Christofer Eggers and former counsel Eva Schalast, who is joining the firm as a partner. The three partners will be accompanied at their new firm by a five-strong brand management team. Squire Patton Boggs global chair of international dispute resolution George von Mehren commented: ‘We have a strong cartel litigation and competition dispute practice in Germany and this team’s arrival, coupled with the continued growth in competition-related litigations, will lead to further opportunities for the expansion of our practice.’

About the team

Mr Lange’s practice focuses on intellectual property issues and litigation involving unfair competition. He advises both foreign and domestic companies on issues relating to trademark and the administration of trademark portfolios, as well as unfair competition, passing off and licensing agreements. He has served as managing partner of WilmerHale’s Frankfurt office since 2008. Mr Eggers focuses on competition, anti-trust and regulatory law within brand management has represented clients before the German Federal Anti-Trust Authority and the Court of Justice of the EU. Ms Schalast advises on trademark and design, as well as unfair competition matters.
